New and Renewable Energy Engineering Programs

The New and Renewable Energy Engineering program is crucial for addressing global energy challenges and promoting sustainability. The program is vital in reducing carbon emissions, preserving natural resources, and ensuring energy security by equipping students with the skills to develop and implement renewable energy technologies. It also supports economic growth by preparing graduates for careers in a rapidly expanding industry and fosters innovation that can lead to technological advancements and entrepreneurial opportunities. Ultimately, the program empowers future leaders to drive the global transition to sustainable energy practices, aligning with international goals for a cleaner, greener future.

However, this very concentration and dynamics offer opportunities, through design and actions at different e-mobility scales, to enhance energy resources, and in doing so, raise equitable access and minimize the various environmental impacts, including the effects of climate change.

The program focuses on energy and renewable energy and aims at directing education and research towards achieving progress to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

• Goal 4 “Quality of Education”.
• Goal 7 “Ensure sustainable energy for all”, and
• Goal 11 “Sustainable cities and Communities”.

Agreements with another University

The New and Renewable Energy Engineering program is an initiative on renewable and sustainable energy.  JAMILA is a joint project between 8 universities from 5 Mediterranean countries with financial support of the European Union (EU) under the umbrella of TEMPUS projects. This project aims to establish a joint master program (curricula reform) in renewable electrical energy engineering ( REEE) that should serve the market needs of these countries to effective utilizing the renewable energy resources and to help support the sustainability of these sources and local environment.
