Brief

My career as a geotechnical engineer has extended over 30 years of academic teaching and research, in addition to professional practice. My academic teaching and practice is through the geotechnical engineering laboratory, structural engineering department, Ain Shams University since 1986. Throughout my professional career as a geotechnical engineer, I have been involved with different consulting firms given various tasks, such as analysis of laboratory and field testing data, bridges foundation and roads deign, embankment design and monitoring, shallow and deep foundation design, slope stability assessment, and analysis of earth retention structures. This experience has exposed me to wide variety of soil types, such as soft compressible soils, stiff cohesive glacial soils, granular soils, unsaturated soils, and weak and strong rocks in more than 9 countries around the world. I have also developed considerable experience in Civil Engineering software, such as Slope-W, Seep-W, Sigma-W, LPILE-4, Plaxis 8.2, and GGU-Settlement. My major areas of expertise include site investigation, foundation design, Dams, Embankment, Soil Reinforcement, Ground Improvement, numerical modeling and probabilistic and risk analyses.
