Brief

Dr. Mohamed Kamh serves as Associate Professor of Electrical Power Engineering at the Department of Electrical Power and Machines Department, Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University. He received the B.Sc. (Honors) and M.Sc. degrees from Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt, in 2003 and 2007 respectively, both in electrical power and machines engineering, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from University of Toronto, Toronto, ON, Canada, in 2011. He is a Senior IEEE member where he actively participates in several IEEE Task Forces on modeling and analysis of distributed energy resources. He is also an official technical reviewer for IET and IEEE Power and Energy Society journals and conference publications.

Dr. Kamh is currently seconded to the World Bank to lead the Energy Dialogue with the Government of Jordan. Before that, he served as the Technical Adviser for the Minister of
Electricity and Renewable Energy in Egypt, where he gave strategic and technical advice on matters related to electricity policies related to renewable energy, Transmission Network planning and operation, as well as establishing Egypt as a Regional Electricity Hub.

He is a registered Professional Engineer in Egypt, as well as with the Provinces of Alberta and Ontario, Canada where he served for more than a decade as a utility leader in the fields of transmission system planning, operation, and engineering. In addition, he has developed and delivered short courses/lectures/tutorials related to power system engineering education and training.

His research interests include power system planning and operation, power electronics, distributed and renewable energy resources, smart grids, and application of artificial intelligence in the aforementioned fields.

His engineering consulting specialties: Value Engineering, Utility reforms and policy development, Power Systems , Engineering Management, Project Management, Procurement Development and Implementation, Project Financing, Change Management, Integration of Renewable and Energy Storage Resources, Power Electronics applications to power systems, Smart Grids and Active Distribution Networks, Microgrids.
