نبذة مختصرة
My name is Esraa Ahmed, and I am a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Architectural Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt. I earned my B.Sc. in Architectural Engineering with distinction and honors in 2018. Subsequently, I completed my M.Sc. in 2021, where my research focused on investigating the impact of Internet of Things (IoT) and smart technologies on building resource efficiency and performance. My master's research received recognition for its innovative contribution to the field and laid the foundation for my doctoral work.
During my Ph.D. studies, I was awarded an Erasmus+ Research Mobility Scholarship, which enabled me to conduct research at Technische Universität Berlin (TU Berlin), Germany, from May to July 2023. This experience enhanced my international research exposure, broadened my academic perspective, and strengthened my skills in interdisciplinary collaboration. My current research focuses on developing comprehensive building performance assessment frameworks and decision-support tools that integrate smart technologies, sustainability principles, resource efficiency metrics, and occupant-centered performance indicators. Through my work, I aim to bridge the gap between technological innovation and sustainable building design, contributing to the development of intelligent, energy-efficient, and human-centered built environments.
Throughout my academic journey, I have actively participated in research projects, international collaborations, and industry-related initiatives. I am particularly interested in smart buildings, digital transformation in the built environment, applications in building performance assessment, sustainability, and occupant well-being. My long-term goal is to develop innovative methodologies and digital tools that support evidence-based decision-making and advance sustainable development within the architecture, engineering, and construction sectors.
