Ain Shams Engineering Organizes the First Seminar in the Water Engineering Series
As part of the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University's keenness to link academic education with industry, build student capacities, and qualify them for the requirements of the labor market, the first seminar in the water engineering seminar series was launched. This seminar comes through joint organization between the faculty's Conferences Committee, the Center of Excellence for Water Research, and BAMAG Company. The seminar was presented by Dr. Mansour Iskander, Managing Partner of BAMAG Company, and moderated by Prof. Dr. Hoda Soussa, Professor of Water Resources Engineering, Acting Head of the Irrigation and Hydraulics Department, and Manager of the Center of Excellence for Water Research at the Faculty of Engineering.
The seminar aims to introduce the fields of work in water engineering for various engineering disciplines, attract students to work in them, in addition to shedding light on the academic requirements for working in this field and the available career opportunities. Dr. Mansour reviewed the essential working skills in this vital sector and the required engineering disciplines, while highlighting realistic models of major water plants implemented inside Egypt and explaining the role of various engineering disciplines in the implementation and operation stages of each plant.
This series of seminars gains exceptional importance as it is linked to Egypt's Vision and Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on raising awareness of the role of water and its importance in operating various sectors such as agriculture, industry, energy, cooling, and food production. It also highlights the importance of water engineers and their role in finding scientific and technical solutions to reduce water losses, expand the scope of its treatment and reuse, and rationalize its consumption. This series of seminars contributes to transferring direct knowledge to students and qualifying a new generation of engineers capable of working in various fields of water engineering.
