TU Berlin Delegation Visits the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University to Strengthen Academic and Research Collaboration under the Erasmus+ Program
The Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University was pleased to welcome a distinguished delegation of faculty members and researchers from Technische Universität Berlin (TU Berlin), including Prof. Jan Mugele and researchers Claudia Kopic, Karim Shawky, and Kevin Lausch from the Hermann Rietschel Institute. The visit took place within the framework of the Erasmus+ academic mobility agreement between TU Berlin and Ain Shams University.
At the beginning of the visit, the delegation held a meeting with Prof. Amr Abdel Salam Shaat, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University, and Prof. Marwa Khalifa, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research. The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two institutions and expanding collaboration in research, academic exchange, and joint supervision, in line with the Faculty’s commitment to broadening its international partnerships.
The visit also included a scientific tour of the Acoustics Building laboratories at the Faculty, guided by Prof. Adel El-Sabbagh and Prof. Ashraf Mostafa, providing an opportunity to explore the Faculty’s research and laboratory capabilities and exchange expertise in areas of mutual interest.
In addition, a specialized scientific lecture was delivered to senior students of the Mechanical Power Engineering Department as part of the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning course. The lecture provided students with an opportunity to engage directly with international academic expertise and gain insights into the latest developments and applications in their field.
The visit concluded with a series of academic seminars and student presentations, during which senior students presented selected parts of their graduation projects under the supervision of Prof. Rania Sweif, Prof. Mohamed Kohail, Prof. Ashraf Mostafa, and Dr. Asmaa Ramadan. The sessions provided a valuable platform for academic discussion, knowledge exchange, and interaction between the students and the German delegation.
This visit reflects the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University’s commitment to expanding its international partnerships and strengthening academic and research collaboration. It also opens new opportunities for students and researchers to benefit from international expertise and engage with global academic institutions, supporting joint research, international academic supervision, and educational excellence, while further enhancing the Faculty’s role as an active partner in international academic and research cooperation.
