Prof. Dr. Ahmed Youssef El-Gazouli Appointed New President of Nile University
Prof. Dr. Ahmed El-Gazouli has assumed his duties as President of Nile University, effective September 1, 2026, in accordance with a decision by the University’s Board of Trustees, chaired by Dr. Mahmoud Mohieldin, and following the approval of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Dr. Ahmed El-Gazouli has an outstanding international academic and research career spanning more than 30 years, most of which were spent at Imperial College London, where he served as Head of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering for 20 years.
He has also authored more than 400 international publications and has contributed as an expert to the design of several major infrastructure projects and iconic structures around the world.
In 2016, he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering in the United Kingdom, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to engineering research, education, and professional practice.
Prof. Dr. Ahmed El-Gazouli emphasized that the next phase will build on Nile University’s achievements, with a focus on enhancing the quality of education and scientific research, supporting innovation and entrepreneurship, expanding international partnerships, and strengthening the university’s competitiveness both locally and internationally.
