Ain Shams University Hosts Seminar on Fulbright Programs and International Scholarships
As part of Ain Shams University’s commitment to supporting scientific and cultural exchange and enhancing opportunities for international academic cooperation, and under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of the University, and Prof. Amani Osama Kamel, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, and in cooperation with the International Relations and Academic Cooperation Sector, the Faculty of Engineering hosted an introductory seminar on Fulbright Egypt programs. The seminar aimed to raise awareness among postgraduate students, faculty members, and graduates about the available scholarship opportunities and various application mechanisms.
The seminar was attended by Prof. Amr Shaat, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and Prof. Sherweit El Ahmady, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Cooperation Sector, who welcomed Dr. Maggie Nassif, Executive Director of Fulbright Egypt, in the presence of Ms. Noha Salah, Senior Program Officer at Fulbright Egypt, and Mr. Yehia El-Tawil, representative of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The event was organized by Prof. Marwa Khalifa, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for Graduate Studies and Research, and Ms. Engy El-Demak, International Agreements Coordinator at the International Cooperation Office.
During her speech, Dr. Maggie Nassif expressed her pleasure at visiting Ain Shams University, emphasizing her pride in the fruitful partnership and continuous cooperation between Fulbright Egypt and the University. She also praised the University’s support for academic and cultural exchange programs.
Ms. Noha Salah, Senior Program Officer at Fulbright Egypt, reviewed the details of the 2027–2028 academic year programs, which include scholarships dedicated to Egyptian graduates, professors, and professionals for study, research, and professional training in the United States.
The programs include scholarships for university graduates and postgraduate students in various disciplines, including master’s scholarships, research and data collection grants, as well as joint supervision grants for doctoral students.
The seminar also addressed programs dedicated to faculty members and researchers at research centers, including postdoctoral research grants, MBA programs for leaders of universities and research centers, the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program for professional training, and the Foreign Language Teaching Assistant Program for English language teachers.
In addition, the seminar covered the application requirements for each program, application deadlines, interview procedures, and the academic, research, professional, and personal benefits offered through cultural exchange programs.
Mr. Yehia El-Tawil, representative of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, emphasized the importance of maintaining communication between Egyptian students and researchers abroad and the Egyptian Cultural Office in the country of study, while ensuring the accurate registration of their personal information to facilitate support and follow-up during their study period.
He also discussed regulations and procedures related to study leave, travel requirements, and the organizational procedures that should be followed before traveling and throughout the study period abroad.
The seminar concluded with an open Q&A session, allowing attendees to maximize their benefit from the event and receive answers to all inquiries regarding registration for Fulbright scholarships and programs.
In this context, Fulbright Egypt announced the opening of applications for its various programs for Egyptian students and professors across all humanities and scientific disciplines, in addition to programs for American experts and professors, for the 2027–2028 academic year.
