“Introduction to BIM” Seminar at Ain Shams Engineering Enhances Students’ Skills and Advances Digital Construction Technologies
In line with the Faculty of Engineering – Ain Shams University’s commitment to developing students’ skills and keeping pace with the latest modern systems and technologies, the Faculty’s Conferences Committee organized a seminar titled “Introduction to BIM” on Sunday, April 26, 2026. The seminar was delivered by Eng. Taher Mohamed Saeed, Founder and CEO of CAD MASTERS, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Amr Shaat, Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Dr. Marwa Aboul Fotouh Khalifa, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research.
The seminar addressed the fundamentals of Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology and highlighted the key differences between BIM and traditional CAD systems. It also featured an overview of the most important tools and software, such as Revit and Navisworks. Eng. Taher further explained the different BIM dimensions (from 4D to 7D) and their role in enhancing collaboration efficiency and decision-making in major engineering projects.
The session placed particular emphasis on the professional aspect, demonstrating how mastering these technologies can strongly prepare students for the labor market and help them keep up with global digital transformation trends.
The event concluded with an open discussion session, where students had the opportunity to ask questions and engage directly with the speaker.
