“Beyond the Borders” Event Celebrates Cultural Diversity and International Student Integration at Ain Shams Engineering
In line with the Faculty of Engineering – Ain Shams University’s commitment to promoting cultural exchange and enhancing the integration of international students with their Egyptian peers, reflecting its role in fostering values of diversity and intercultural dialogue, the Evolution Network for Student Wellbeing & the International Students Sector – Internatioal Collaboration Office organized the “Beyond the Borders” event on Thursday, April 30, 2026.
The event was held under the patronage and in the presence of Prof. Amr Shaat, Dean of the Faculty, with the participation of Prof. Mohamed Abdel Aziz, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Sabah Soliman, Head of the Evolution Network; Prof. Noha Gamal Said, Coordinator for International Students– International Collaboration Office; and Dr. Aya El-Sisi, Evolution Student Society Coordinator. The event was also attended by a number of faculty members supervising student activities, as well as representatives from the Student Affairs Administration – International Students Sector. It was successfully organized by the Evolution Student Society along with representatives of international students.
The event featured a diverse range of activities and interactive segments that showcased the richness and diversity of cultures within the campus, along with the distribution of souvenirs to students, all in a vibrant atmosphere characterized by engagement and positive interaction.
Students from several countries, including Egypt, Sudan, Palestine, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan, participated by presenting performances and activities reflecting their cultural heritage and traditions. One of the highlights was the introduction to the Sudanese cultural tradition of “Jirtig,” which received great admiration and enthusiastic engagement from the audience.
The event concluded in a festive and memorable atmosphere, reaffirming the Faculty of Engineering – Ain Shams University’s ongoing commitment to its educational and societal role, and its dedication to fostering an inclusive academic environment that supports cultural diversity and strengthens communication among different nationalities.
