In line with the university’s commitment to actively monitoring and analyzing social issues and phenomena, and providing scientific insights that support sustainable development efforts, the Community Observatory at Ain Shams University emerges as a specialized scientific and research platform operating under the umbrella of the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector.

The Observatory focuses on studying societal problems and issues within the Egyptian environment through rigorous scientific analysis. This approach enables a deeper understanding of social transformations and the challenges facing society, while also contributing to the development of evidence-based insights that support decision-makers in designing policies and initiatives aimed at serving the community.

The Observatory also benefits from Ain Shams University’s diverse academic expertise, advanced research tools, and extensive university, local, and international databases. These resources enhance its ability to provide reliable scientific analyses that support development efforts and respond to the evolving needs of society.

As part of its research role in monitoring contemporary societal phenomena, the Community Observatory is currently conducting a study on the impact of the increasing use of electronic games on university students’ behaviors. This topic has become increasingly relevant due to the widespread popularity of electronic gaming among youth and its potential behavioral, social, and academic implications.

In this context, the Observatory invites university students to participate in the attached survey by answering the included questions. Their participation will help provide accurate scientific data that will assist researchers in gaining a deeper understanding of this phenomenon.
