The celebration took place at the Grand Celebration Hall of the Faculty under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Amr Abdel Salam Shaat, Dean of the Faculty, and in the presence of Prof. Dr. Omar El-Husseini, former Dean of the Faculty; Prof. Dr. Sayed Ismail, former Deputy Minister of Housing; Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Ibrahim Abdel Aziz, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Dr. Marwa Abou El-Fotouh Khalifa, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research; and Prof. Dr. Hany السيد Abdel Halim, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, amidst a remarkable and large turnout of faculty members, staff, and students who were keen to participate in reviving this immortal memory in the nation's history.
The celebration featured an inspiring and impactful speech by Prof. Dr. Amr Abdel Salam Shaat, Dean of the Faculty, in which he addressed an important aspect of the genius of Egyptian military planning, touching upon the national epic and the precise studies that preceded the decision for war. He shed light on how the zero hour and the timing of the war were chosen based on the notebook and studies of Field Marshal Mohamed Abdel Ghani El-Gamassy (Head of Operations during the October War), and how military studies took into consideration the tides, weather conditions, and the political and military situation of the enemy, enabling the Egyptian army to achieve complete strategic surprise and forge this glorious victory, affirming that victory is the fruit of science, planning, and valor combined.
To add a spirit of enthusiasm and joy to the celebration, the Faculty's Choir and Music Team presented a collection of the finest national songs that inflamed the emotions of the attendees and soared with them into the horizons of glory and pride. The team excelled in performing songs that immortalized the memory of the victory and expressed love for Egypt and its great army, amid massive interaction from the audience.
This celebration comes to reaffirm the continuation of the great October spirit as a permanent source of inspiration for youth, to arm themselves with knowledge and planning genius to advance the nation and build its future.
