Ain Shams Engineering Racing Team Achieves Historic Victory at Formula Student UK, Tops Formula AI Theoretical Events

The Ain Shams University Faculty of Engineering Racing Team achieved a historic milestone at the Formula Student competition held at Silverstone Circuit, United Kingdom, after securing first place in the overall theoretical events of the Formula AI category (autonomous vehicles). This remarkable achievement makes the team the first in the history of Egypt and Africa to claim this title in one of the world's most prestigious and competitive engineering competitions for university students.
The team also delivered outstanding performances across several Formula AI events, earning:
- 2nd Place – Simulation: Evaluating system performance and autonomous driving simulations.
- 2nd Place – System Design: Assessing engineering design excellence and development methodology.
- 2nd Place – Business Logic Case (BLC): Evaluating the project's business plan and commercial feasibility.
- 4th Place – Overall: Overall competition ranking.
This achievement coincided with the team's first-ever participation using an electric Formula race car, which was entirely designed, developed, and manufactured by students of the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University. The milestone represents a significant leap in the team's journey and highlights the ability of Egyptian engineering talent to compete in cutting-edge electric vehicle technologies.
