ASUWind Team at Ain Shams Engineering Wins Third Place Globally in the Small Wind Turbine Contest in the Netherlands
As part of the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University's commitment to fostering innovation and academic excellence, the ASUWind team achieved a new international milestone by securing Third Place in the Small Wind Turbine Contest, held in the Netherlands from July 7 to 10, 2026, with the participation of distinguished university teams from around the world.
The team consisted of the following outstanding students from the Faculty of Engineering:
- Rami Mohamed Awad – Department of Electrical Power and Machines Engineering.
- Rawan Mohamed Hegazy – Department of Design and Production Engineering.
- Sandy Talaat Samir – Department of Design and Production Engineering.
- Abdelrahman Hassan Abdelrahman – Department of Design and Production Engineering.
- Mariam Osama Eissa – Department of Design and Production Engineering.
- Youssef Amr Saeed – Department of Design and Production Engineering.
- Raphael Maged George – Department of Energy Engineering.
- Makony Karam – Department of Design and Production Engineering.
The team participated under the academic supervision of:
- Prof. Adel El-Sabbagh.
- Prof. Tamer El-Nady.
- Prof. Ashraf Mostafa.
- Prof. Mahmoud Abdallah.
This achievement adds to the Faculty's growing record of success in international competitions, reflecting the excellence of its students and their ability to apply engineering knowledge in developing innovative solutions for renewable energy. It also reinforces the Faculty of Engineering's position as one of the leading academic institutions dedicated to preparing highly qualified engineers capable of competing at both regional and international levels.
The team also extends its sincere appreciation to the organizations that supported its participation, namely the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI), EgyptAir, and ENPPI, in recognition of their valuable support in enabling the students to proudly represent Egypt and Ain Shams University at the international level.
