Brief
Ahmed started his career as a demonstrator in the faculty of engineering, Ain-Shams University, after he graduated first in his class with an honours degree. He is teaching several courses such as: automotive design, automotive mechatronics systems, modelling and simulation of automotive systems, maintenance engineering, vehicle automatic control, design of control systems, vehicle crash analysis and internal combustion engines.
Since 2012, Ahmed joined the Ain-Shams University racing Team (ASU racing team) as A faculty advisor and started supervising the technical team in several international competitions, such as:
• Formula Student competition held in the United Kingdom run by the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, ranked 28th worldwide in 2017 and achieved the 1st position in the cost in 2018.
• Shell Eco Marathon competition (held in the Philippines, Singapore, and Malaysia), achieved the safety award in 2017 and ranked 14th position in 2018.
• The Global Hybrid Electric Challenge (GHEC), achieved the first position in Egypt and ranked 3rd position in United Arab Emirates in 2016.
Since 2013, Ahmed has joined the consumer protection agency of Egypt (CPA) as a technical consultant. He has worked on more than 500 major cases from all vehicle brands in the Egyptian market. The cases included vehicle quality inspection, vehicle crash analysis, and vehicle fire investigations. He developed an extensive background in the state-of-the-art technologies in the field of automotive.
In 2017, Ahmed was awarded the M.SC. In automotive engineering from the faculty of engineering, Ain-Shams University, after completing his research on the power management control strategies of the hybrid electric vehicles.
Since 2018, Ahmed has worked as a senior technical engineer of the electric vehicle rally (EVER). He mentored undergraduate engineers through all the competition stages and provided them with the needed knowledge, hands-on skills and experience in designing, manufacturing and operating electric vehicles.
In 2023, Ahmed was awarded a Ph.D. in automotive engineering from the faculty of engineering, Ain-Shams University, after completing his research on the localization systems for electric autonomous vehicles.
