Engineers Syndicate President Meets Ain Shams Engineering Dean to Discuss Strengthening Cooperation and Developing Engineering Education
Dr. Mohamed Abdel Ghani, President of the Engineers Syndicate, received a delegation from the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University, headed by Prof. Dr. Amr Shaat, Dean of the Faculty. The delegation also included Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Hany El-Sayed Abdel Halim Saad, Assistant Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Affairs.
The meeting witnessed extensive discussions on the key challenges facing the engineering profession in Egypt, with a primary focus on developing the engineering education system, supporting public education, improving the quality of educational outcomes, and exploring mechanisms to advance the profession.
The meeting also addressed ways to enhance cooperation between the Engineers Syndicate and the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University to achieve integration between the academic and professional sectors, while benefiting from the scientific expertise of faculty members in developing the professional practice system.
Dr. Mohamed Abdel Ghani emphasized the Syndicate’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Ain Shams University as one of the leading public universities. He highlighted the importance of benefiting from the faculty’s expertise in developing professional practice regulations, preparing registration examinations, and establishing a scientific question bank that ensures the highest standards of competency. He also stressed the importance of developing registration examinations for consultant listings to help select consultants with the highest levels of competence and experience.
For his part, Prof. Dr. Amr Shaat affirmed that the Faculty strongly believes in the importance of integrated cooperation with the Engineers Syndicate, based on their shared responsibility toward developing the engineering profession in Egypt. He emphasized the importance of launching programs that integrate academic and professional aspects, as well as cooperating on issues related to professional practice, consultancy, question banks, and examinations, in a way that positively reflects on the standards of Egyptian engineers and the status of the profession.
