Coastal Engineering
What Will Learn?

Course Aims• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the natural phenomena at the coastal zone, such as wind, currents and tides. • Analyze different wave actions and processes at the coastal zone, such as wave refraction, diffraction and breaking. • Calculate wave impact forces on different coastal structures needed for their design. • Estimate amount of coastal sediment transport and the resulted shoreline changes. • Planning and design of shore protection structures.
