Design of Concrete Floors and Halls
What Will Learn?

Course AimsThe aim of this course is to provide students with the needed knowledge and skills to: ● Have the capability to design hinged frames, fixed frames, radial frames, polygonal frames, arch girders. ● Be able to understand the load thrust in arched structures. ● Study the behavior of surface of revolution structures. ● Accomplish full detailing of various types of concrete frames and arch girders. ● Accomplish full detailing of surface of revolution structures. ● Understand the wind load transfer on the different long span structures, saw tooth and arched structures.

Introduction to floor systems. Design of solid slabs. Design of ribbed slabs. Design of flat and waffle slab, Design of Stairs, Computer Modeling of floor systems. Conceptual design of Halls (From medium to large spans), Design of frames, polygonal frames, arched girders and Vierendeel. Introduction to different roofing systems (Inclined slabs, sawtooth structures and folded plates). All loads on halls are included (Gravity, live load and wind load). -
