What Will Learn?

  • Course Aims
    The aim of this course is to provide students with the needed knowledge and skills, which enable them to understand some general terms in Acoustics: Decibel, Sound Pressure Level and Reverberation time, Understand the terms: Equal Loudness contours, Weighting Networks, Equivalent levels, Noise Criteria, Noise Criteria Curves, Background noise level and Transmission loss, Design an adequate Architectural space, in terms of Acoustic comfort, whether related to the selection inner layer materials or separating building fabrics.

  • English Description

    Sound behavior, architectural acoustics, definition of architectural acoustics, its importance in building, main terminologies, behavior of sound waves in enclosures, sound absorption and reflection, sound isolation, the main acoustical defects, the methods of correction, auditorium acoustics, noise control, outdoor sound propagation, outdoor noise propagation Modeling, prediction and strategic mitigation theories.
