What Will Learn?

  • Course Aims
    By the end of the course the students will be able to: - Articulate basic concepts of disasters and disaster risk reduction; - Understand key linkages between disasters, environment and disaster risk reduction; - Understand key international agreements, organizations and initiatives related to disaster risk reduction, including those elements in climate change adaptation that are relevant; - Employ various tools of disaster risk and vulnerability assessments; - Understand specific environmental management tool that can be undertaken to minimize disaster risk

    Urban Resilience, nature-based solutions, disaster risk reduction (DRR), resilience to natural disasters, water security, urban interaction, laws, regulations, civil society, human health and well-being, sustainable development, ecosystem management ecosystem based tools, climate change adaptation.
