Brief

Assistant Professor in the Architecture Department, Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University, holding a bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the same department and a PhD in Architecture from the University of Strathclyde, UK. Research experience includes public and green spaces, public parks and broader public spaces studies with particular focus on placemaking and placekeeping. Work employs both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, systems thinking and landscape ecology. Master’s thesis examined the relationship between green spaces and basic human needs, while doctoral research developed a systems-based framework for the sustainable management of public parks in Cairo. Research interests include nature-based solutions, management and entrepreneurship and the integration of serious games into education.
