Introduction to engineering materials. Material properties: physical, chemical, thermal, and mechanical properties. Testing machines and Strain measurements. Basic properties of non-metallic materials (Building stones, Bricks, Timber, Isolation materials, glass, Ceramics, Polymers, advanced composite materials and Concrete). Behavior of metals under static loads (Tension, Compression, Flexure, and Shear). -
