Steel Structures Design (3)
What Will Learn?
-
Course AimsThe aim of this course is to provide students with the needed knowledge and skills, which enable them to design steel bridges: roadways and railway bridges. The course allows students to draw a general layout showing different parts of roadway bridges and bracing systems as well as design all components of the bridge; floor beams and their connections, main girders of the bridge, fatigue considerations, buckling of plates, flange to web weld, Stiffeners, bolted and welded splices connections, curtailment of flange plates, details. Design of Beam Grids and Composite Bridges are also covered in the course considering general design considerations, shear connectors design, details, Effect of gird interaction, Effect of relative rigidity, and wind Bracings.
