What Will Learn?

Course AimsThis course aims to provide students with the opportunity to develop the ability of the students to gain an in-depth view of the principles, techniques and applications of project planning, scheduling, monitoring, controlling and resource allocation in construction projects. It introduces the students to real life projects and the use of planning and scheduling software. It, also, helps the students develop their ability to work in team environment.

Introduction to Planning and Scheduling, Scheduling techniques, Work Breakdown Structures, Introduction to Time Management, Critical Path Method (Activity on Node & Activity on Arrow), Gantt Charts, Resource Loading and Leveling, Line of Balance, Program Review and Evaluation Techniques (PERT), Project Crashing (Cost-Time-Tradeoffs), Project Monitoring and Control, Introduction to Commercial Software. Introduction to complex networks, short interval production scheduling and related Computer applications. -
