What Will Learn?

Course AimsThe aim of this course is to provide students with ability to: • Calculate all vertical static loads acting on the structure and distribute them on beams. • Accomplish the flexural, shear and torsional design for reinforced concrete beams at the sectional level and provide full detailing at the element level. • Teach the students the basic principles of design of reinforced concrete structures, using first principles and charts. • Check the deflection and cracking serviceability limit states for flexural members.
