Building Type and Legislations Design Studio

What Will Learn?

  • Course Aims
    By the end of the course, students will be able to implement creative and innovative design solutions for selected building type projects’ design. Students are expected to develop the skill for acquiring design related knowledge for different building type projects for solving architectural design problems as well as structural design implications. Students’ design abilities will be developed through integrating different architectural functions, forms, relevant structure systems and circulation patterns. In addition, they will be able to select and adopt conceptual frameworks that effectively fit site features and different environmental contexts.

    Public building identity with consideration to cultural, recreational, or institutional aspects pursuing a complex program with different functions, circulations, and construction systems. Site limitations and context and the application of specified codes. Local building codes and legislations, criticize project legality in the light of local laws, legislations and building codes. Examples of selected projects : office buildings, museums, libraries, hospitals, etc
