Course AimsBy the end of the course overall aims should be achieved as follows: ● Deal with accommodation buildings design problems with respect to theories of architecture and residential design. ● Improve her/his drawing capacities and presentation of architectural design projects. ● Understand how to develop and refine preliminary concepts of multi-story accommodation buildings.

The key themes and essential aspects involved in the clustering of residential units: The notion of community design, household appropriation, prototype variation Vs. unification, social targeting, residential cluster design, residential tower clustering, cluster service design, cluster outdoor space design. The relationship between the living environment in general and the individual dwelling. How to design a dwelling unit as part of an overarching urban scheme. Infill space design, designing creatively under the limitations and bounds of design review codes, and planning codes. Clustering different types of housing units (single family, multi-family, row-housing, land parcel houses .. etc.). Functional demands like daylight, ventilation and accessibility vie for prominence with social inclusion, aesthetic considerations, economic efficiency, public health, and sustainability. -
