The Center of Excellence for Energy hosted around 160 faculty, students
Yesterday, the Center of Excellence for Energy hosted around 160 faculty, students, and energy industry representatives at the Solar Photovoltaic Systems Workshop, led by Dr. Govindasamy (Mani) TamizhMani, director of the Photovoltaic Reliability Laboratory within the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University.
With 40+ years of research, testing, certification, and teaching experience in solar photovoltaics (PV), batteries, and fuel cells, Dr. Mani engaged participants from Ain Shams University جامعة عين شمس, Mansoura University, and Aswan University - جامعة أسوان, as well as industry representatives, in a compelling conversation about the intricacies of solar PV systems, offering valuable insights into performance, reliability, cost, and environmental issues. An open Q&A at the end of the session fostered an insightful discussion among participants.
Today, Dr. Mani is leading the PV Reliability and Testing Certification program for a select group of engineers, researchers, faculty, and graduate students with expertise in PV systems.
The workshop and certification program are part of the center’s efforts to develop Egypt’s higher education capacity to respond to changing public and private sector needs for relevant, high-quality applied research and skilled graduates in the energy sector.
Thanks to all attendees and to Dr. Mani for traveling to Egypt to deliver the workshop and certificate program.
