Course AimsThis course aims to provide students with the opportunity to develop an understanding of project management definition and areas, basic management functions, Construction project life cycle, project delivery methods, contracting strategies, construction contracts. Construction planning and scheduling, WBS bar charts, AOA and AON networks, critical path method, project control. Construction resources, material management, Organization charts, construction equipment. Construction method statement, constructability, Construction cost estimating, direct and indirect costs, cash flow calculations, introduction to management information systems.

Definition of Projects and Project Management, Project management techniques, models, and knowledge to enable students to design and operate an effective project management system, Project Life Cycle in Construction, Project Scope Management, Quality Management, Introduction to Procurement Management, Introduction to Equipment Management, Introduction to Risk Management, Human Resources Management including Charts and staff motivation, Communication, and stakeholder management, Construction method statements and constructability, introduction to operation research. Topics are aligned with the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK). -
