Climate Change, Energy and Water Issues
What Will Learn?
-
Course AimsDevelop a Scientific Understanding of Climate Systems: Explain the fundamental principles of Earth’s climate system, including the greenhouse effect, global energy balance, and radiative forcing. Analyze and Quantify Climate Processes: Apply mathematical models and equations to assess climate-related variables such as global mean surface temperature, energy flows, and greenhouse gas contributions. Evaluate the Impacts of Climate Change on Natural and Human Systems: Assess the consequences of global warming on water resources, food security, and energy production, using real-world data and case studies. Apply Sustainable Strategies for Resource Management: Explore and propose solutions for mitigating environmental impacts through efficient resource use, renewable energy adoption, and climate-sensitive policies. Enhance Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving Skills in Climate Science: Interpret climate data, assess environmental indicators, and solve numerical problems related to energy budgets, climate sensitivity, and greenhouse gas emissions.
