What Will Learn?

Course Aims· Enrich the student knowledge about DC electrical machines. · Enrich the student knowledge about Electrical transformers. · Develop the student ability with operation, control, and dynamics of electrical machines. · Train the student to analyze transient performance of the DC electrical machines. · The student shall attain the above mentioned objectives efficiently under controlled guidance and supervision.

Load characteristics of D.C. generators. Load characteristics of D.C. motors. Testing of D.C. machines. Transformers: Theory; mutual induction, Equivalent circuit, Phasor diagram, efficiency and regulation. Transformer Construction and cooling. Transformer Operation; Loading, losses, connections, Off-load and on-load tap-changing, auto transformer, parallel operation, harmonics, transients. Testing of transformers. -
