This course aims to provide engineering students with a simple introduction and general knowledge about engineering parts, their materials, and primary production processes and manufacturing technologies. It includes engineering materials classification, and introduction to materials selection for different applications. Production processes such as casting, joining and metal forming processes. Some manufacturing processes of polymers, machining processes of metals and wood. Measuring instrumentations. In addition, a brief view on new materials and introduction to advanced processing techniques (e.g. water jet cutting…. etc.) is provided. -
