Research mainly focuses on adapting scientific approaches from different fields to develop methodologies for solving environmental, earth/atmospheric, and water resources problems. The research interests include geographic information systems (GIS) applications in civil and environmental engineering; ldistributed hydrologic modeling; surface and groundwater modeling; atmospheric circulations; bridge hydrodynamic/scour analysis; image processing techniques; remote sensing; optimization algorithms; design and operation of dams and water resources systems; water resources management, engineering applications of statistics and geo-statistics; hydrodynamics and sediment transport; environmental hydraulics & pollutant transport, and ecological modeling.
