Brief
Dr. Ismail Amer is currently an Assistant Professor of Structural Engineering at Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt. He obtained his M.Sc., Structural Engineering, in 2017, from Ain Shams University on the strengthening of steel beams using advanced composite materials, FRP. He completed his Ph.D., Structural Engineering, in 2021, from Ain Shams University on the characterization and development of alkali-activated concrete to be introduced in the construction field as a step towards sustainability. His major area of research includes repair and strengthening of structures, new concrete technologies, and innovative and sustainable construction materials such as Geopolymer Concrete, Alkali Activated Concrete and Reactive Powder Concrete. He has published several papers in leading international journals. He is also a certified reviewer in several highly regarded scientific journals affiliated with international publishers such as ASCE, ScienceDirect and Wiley. He has over 13 years of experience in teaching, research, and consultancy in the field of structural Engineering.
