الأستاذ الدكتور هدى كمال سوسة متخصصة في هندسة الموارد المائية مع خبرة واسعة في برامج نمذجة المياه وإدارة الموارد المائية المتكاملة والتنمية في المناطق القاحلة وشبه القاحلة، وإدارة الطلب على المياه، تخطيط الموارد المائية، والسياسات، ومراقبة نوعية المياه، والتحقيق الهيدروجيولوجية، البرامج العددية و النمذجة ونظم المعلومات الجغرافية والاستشعار عن بعد في تطبيقات الموارد المائية . أغلب المشاريع التطبيقية التي قامت بها في مصر، لكنها عملت في العديد من المشاريع الدولية بعد الدكتوراه وحتى الآن .
و قد اكتسب الخبرة الأكاديمية من خلال حياتها المهنية كأستاذ جامعي وكمستشار في عدة مشروعات في مجالات مختلفة منها مجال الحماية من السيول (و هي حاصلة على شهادة استشاري من النقابة في هذا المجال) و مجال تطوير التعليم العالي. أ.د. هدى سوسة تقوم بالتدريس لطلبة البكلوريوس والدراسات العليا مواد تشمل العلوم الأساسية والمتقدمة لطلاب الهندسة والإشراف على دراسة العديد من رسائل الماجستير والدكتوراه في مجالات الموارد المائية، والهيدرولوجيا، و نوعية المياه

• Principal Investigator of the Subsurface drip irrigation funded by the Industrial Modernization Centre IMC, 2010.
• Design and supervision of the Desalination unit and bottled water company of ISIS, belbis, Egypt 2010.
• Consultant and head of Department for all water quality and quantity related projects of ISIS and Sekem companies 2009 to 2011.
• Flood mitigation and protection work design for the industrial zone, Golf of Suez, Sokhna, Egypt, 2015.
• Development and application of an innovative passive sampling technique to control pollution in sewerage within EXCEED, 2016.
• Numerical Modelling application for determining pollution propagation in Zambezi River, 2017.
• Design of lagoon systems using numerical Modeling at Marsa Allam Port Ghalab project 2017, and Desalination plants brine outlets. • Egyptian contact person of the EU project Mare Nostrum ICM project 2018-2019 on marine ecology.
• Ain Shams representative in the USAID project of establishing Center of Excellence for Water 2019-2024.
