Brief
Dr. Zidan has over 35 years of experience as a faculty member, a Professional Engineer and a consultant in Egypt. He is the Coordinator of the Permanent Committee of the Development of the Egyptian Code for Masonry.. He is a Member of the Egyptian Construction Liability Insurance Pool . He is the author or co-author of over 65 papers and technical reports on different aspects of the analysis and design of structures. Dr. Zidan has supervised more than 60 M.Sc. and Ph.D. thesis in different areas of analysis and design of structures. He was the General Secretary of the 8th and 9th International Colloquiums on Structural and Geotechnical Engineering organized by the Structural Eng. Dept., Faculty of Eng., Ain Shams in 1998 and 2001, respectively. He was the Chairman of the 10th version of this International Colloquium in 2003. He has been working as a consultant and an expert witness on many structural investigations for private industry and government organizations in Egypt.
