Alkali Activated Materials
Alkali activated materials (AAM) are an innovative eco-friendly alternative to traditional cement. The main concept of AAM is to activate waste materials to produce good binders which can replace cement. Using very strong alkalis as activators, the fresh properties of AAM, and the understanding of the microstructure of AAM are some of the challenges of this line of research.
