A seminar on "Oil and Gas Companies, and the Roles of Mechanical Engineers in Them" for the students of the Design and Production Engineering, and Mechanical Power Engineering Programs

On the 14th of September 2023, the Design and Production Engineering Department, Ain Shams University, hosted a seminar for Eng. Alaa-Eddine Galal entitled “Oil and Gas Companies, and the Roles of Mechanical Engineers in Them.” Eng. Alaa-Eddine Galal is working currently as a Senior Drilling Engineer at BP company.
The seminar included the cycle of oil and gas production and the famous companies that work in those stages (owner companies, service providers, drilling contractors, logistics, engineering, construction and fabrication, off-shore installation comapnies, refineries, and products distributors)
The seminar was attended by some of the Design and Production Engineering and Mechanical Power Engineering programs students.

Meeting to Know About the Capabilities of Desing and Production Engineering Department

Training for the assistant staff of the Department of Design and Production Engineering on the maintenance of Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines

The Design and Production department was honored by the presence of Zhao Hui, of Tianjin Light Industry Vocational Technical College and Zhang Yubo of Yalong Intelligent Equipment Group Co., Ltd. from China for training a group of members of the assistant staff of the department on the maintenance of Computer Numerical Control (CNC) in Luban Workshop, to raise their capabilities and transfer experience.

The assistant staff who attended the training:

Seminar pre sented by Prof. Pedro Camanho hosted by the Design and Engineering Department in the field fracture mechanics of composite materials

On the 8th of May 2023, the Design and Production Engineering Department, Ain Shams University, hosted a seminar for Prof. Pedro Camanho entitled “Prediction of fracture in polymer composites across different length scales.” Prof.  Camanho is a Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Porto in Portugal. Prof.  Camanho is currently the President of the Associated Laboratory in Energy, Transportation, and Aeronautics.
 During this event, Prof.  Camanho had the opportunity to tour the department's facilities and Laboratories.
The seminar covered the new trends of using machine learning used in the certification of aircraft composite structural details in the presence of a number of faculty members, assistant staff, postgraduate students, and students of various programs at the departments.
