What Will Learn?

Course AimsThe aim of this course is to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the history and theories of landscape architecture. By studying the chronological development of landscape architecture as a profession and discipline, and exploring the influence of historical eras, religions, and philosophies on landscape design and meaning, students will gain insights into the evolution of landscapes and gardens. The course also aims to develop students' knowledge of various landscape styles, special garden designs, and historical landscaping methods within archaeological and philosophical contexts. By the end of the course, students should be able to identify and compare different landscape styles, comprehend their historical and cultural contexts, and cultivate an appreciation for their aesthetic and functional values.
