Mohamed Afifi holds an esteemed academic standing as a graduate of Ain Shams University's Faculty of Engineering, Electrical Power and Machines Department, where he finished with an exceptional 'Excellent' grade in 2013, obtaining an honorary degree and the honor of class First Rank. Furthering his academic pursuits, he acquired a Master's degree in Electrical Power and Machines Engineering and is currently enrolled as a doctoral candidate at the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University. Post-graduation, Mr. Afifi's career has been primarily rooted in academia and industry.
In 2022, he became a distinguished Fulbright Alumni of the Junior Faculty Development Program conducted at the University of Texas at Austin. Since 2018, he has assumed the crucial role of an academic advisor for the Energy and Renewable Energy program students. His responsibilities encompass managing students' field training, summer internships, and field trips related to Energy and Renewable Energy.
In his professional capacity, Mr. Afifi has lent his expertise to Schneider Electric Egypt for over half a decade as a trainer and academic relations representative. Throughout his tenure, he has pioneered various projects that remain functional today, inspiring countless electrical students across Egyptian institutions.
Moreover, Mr. Afifi has made substantial contributions towards establishing energy laboratories at two public universities, Ain Shams and Helwan, and an energy laboratory at the Egyptian Engineering Syndicate. He was integrally involved in all aspects of the laboratories' design and execution, and he also developed a train-the-trainer program to ensure the laboratories' self-sustainability.
Due to the nature of his role, Mr. Afifi had the opportunity to train an array of experienced engineers from various Egyptian enterprises, with a particular focus on the petroleum industry.
Mr. Afifi brings an extensive and profound knowledge base and advanced research skills in electrical power, specializing in renewable energy resources. His research predominantly concentrates on integrating renewable energy in microgrids, innovative interface control methods, and the impact of renewable energy on the grid's stability.
