The Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University, under patronage of Prof. Dr. Omar Elhosseiny, Dean of the Faculty, and in collaboration with the International Collaboration Office, has organiszed one-week international workshop for a visiting delegation of architects and urban planners from Stuttgart, Germany. The workshop is co-organized by Dr. Manal Elshahat - EZBET e.V. from Stuttgart (www.ezbetproject.com), and Prof. Mohamed Elfayoumi and de. Ahmed Habib from KAIROS City LAB in Cairo, in association with Prof. Samah Elkhatib - the Smart and Future Cities Laboratory for Sustainable Urban Solutions (SFCL),
The program included different lectures among them a lecture titled “Think BIM/CIM: A Way to City Information Modeling.” delivered by Prof. Dr. Waleed Nassar, founder of BIM Consultant Center & Service in Egypt and Saudi Arabia (https://www.afm.sa/building-information-modeling-bim/). In addition to lecture outlining the SFCL lab's activities, research approaches, key achievements, and ongoing projects.  The program included also site visits to several historical and urban sites with comprehensive explanation of how Greater Cairo had developed in different eras.
