What Will Learn?

Course AimsThe aim of this course is to provide students with background necessary to: • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of planning an irrigation project. • Identify the different methods of alignment and synoptic diagrams of irrigation and drainage systems. • Design the cross sections and longitudinal sections of the irrigation and drainage systems. • Calculate the expropriation area in an irrigation project. • Design the lined sections of irrigation channels. • Propose different solutions for the planning of irrigation project. • Analyze and design the different types of retaining walls used in irrigation structures.
