What Will Learn?

  • Course Aims
    Prepare site analysis and program research, and Integrate inner & outer spaces in surrounding context. Propose conscious application of facades and structure analysis, and Suggest and evaluate alternative solutions. Acquire the skill to integrate inner and outer spaces through designing simple buildings in a urban context. Interpret designing landscape elements details through aesthetic forms and functions with the use of natural and man-made materials. Develop analytical and methodological skills that are critical foundations to architecture and landscape architecture studies and design. Identify different architectural techniques and theories, and Integrate keywords relevant to building program & site context Understand relation of spaces based on concepts and context analysis, and Identify tricks in medium complexity design topics

    Relationship between architecture and urban design through exercising an architectural project situated in an urban complex with heritage dimension, Fundamentals of urban context and its relation with the built environment through complete architectural design of a main building within its urban context. The meanings of the integrated architectural design and will reinforce the basics of cultural and aesthetic values, environmental and construction challenges, the role of urban context in shaping the architecture/urban forms. The design process of creating public or residential building defining relationship between indoor and outdoor and experiment different architectural treatments and approaches to build within the heritage site. Designing residential or public buildings in urban context with certain potentials and limitations.
