Railway dynamics: Tractive effort and resistance, Acceleration and braking, Line capacity. Railway alignment: Longitudinal and cross sections, Railway path, Vertical and horizontal curve design, Gaparite, cumulative curve. Structural design of track: Wheel, rail interaction, forces acting on the rail, joined and welded rail design, sleeper and ballast design, Unballasted track and magnetic levitation train, turnouts, stations and signals. -
