Traffic Management: Congestion problem and transportation demand management, objectives of traffic management. Traffic management measures: One way street, coordinating signal timing, Restricting turning movements, Tidal and reversible flow, Design of roundabout intersections, Other traffic management measures, Environmental Impacts of Traffic (traffic noise, air pollution & fuel consumption); Site Impact Studies: scoping and impact of new/expanded activity centers, traffic impact assessment process: generation/distribution/assignment, remedial measures; Public Transport: Introduction to public transport concepts and systems, public transport service levels, introduction to planning and design of public transport service, sustainable public transport measures. -
