What Will Learn?

Course AimsThe aim of this course is to provide students with the needed knowledge and skills, which enable them to define and illustrate the basic principles of refrigeration and Air-conditioning systems, its construction, operation and thermal equilibrium. The First law of thermodynamics is applied, along with the concepts of energy balance, heat, work, and the thermodynamic analysis of the equipment operation. In addition, the cycle modifications, reciprocating compressor operations and capacity control are considered. the course covers applications and analysis of refrigeration cycles and air-conditioning systems operation.
