What Will Learn?

  • Course Aims
    By the end of the course the following aims should be achieved: • Develop the student's ability in preparing a complete set of documents for an architectural project with emphasis on how to put a building together. Specific focus is on base drawings, material finishes, structure and understanding the technical symbols and expression of architectural work, in addition to some architectural and technical detailing and preliminary studies of site and landscaping. • Enhance the student's knowledge about other disciplines in the AEC industry such as mechanical, electrical and plumbing installations. • Develop the student's ability to realize and put into consideration quantities and specifications of each item in the project.

    Types and elements of working drawings as needed to tender, site construction, and/or factory/shop manufacturing, Coordination between the spatial needs of basic technical systems: Structure, HVAC, Lights, and Sanitary, Analyzing, evaluating, choosing, and integrating into design the optimum specifications of different items, Applying BIM applications, such as Revit, to produce construction documents.
