What Will Learn?

Course AimsThe aim of this course is to provide students with the needed knowledge and skills regarding the following requirements. i. Recognize types of rock, soil origin, soil formation and physical properties of soil. ii. Interpret the basics of soil water and soil permeability. iii. Outline different methods used in the computation for stress distribution within soil mass. iv. Identify the principle of soil compressibility and estimation of the excepted settlement of structures. v. Illustrate the principles of soil shear strength, shear parameters and their importance in Geotechnical Engineering.
