This course aims to provide engineering students with a simple introduction and general knowledge about engineering parts, their materials and manufacturing technologies. It includes engineering materials classification. Manufacturing Processes of metals such as metal forming, metal casting process, welding processes and machining processes. Metal forming: bulk forming and sheet metal work. Bulk forming processes include Forging, Rolling, Extrusion and drawing. Sheet metal work (e.g. shearing, blanking, bending, roll bending, spinning, etc. Machining includes metal cutting principles, cutting tool materials, conventional machining processes and brief introduction on advanced machining processes. -
