This course examines the planning, engineering, and policies of transportation systems in urban areas, with a special focus on Greater Cairo Region. It covers the principles of transportation systems planning and analysis, different methods of transportation demand modeling (sequential method, direct demand models, simultaneous models), calibration of trip generation models, gravity model calibration, direct demand models, discrete choice models, the use of some mathematical forms to formulate some problems in transportation planning, the use of some computer programs in transportation planning. -
